The School of Computer and Control Engineering (SCCE) at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) was founded in 2012. The predecessor of SCCE is the School of Information Science and Engineering (SISE) at Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS), which was founded in July 2001. The foundation of SCCE was hosted by the leadership of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and co-sponsored by a number institutes of CAS, including Institute of Automation, Institute of Software, Institute of Information Engineering, Computer Network Information Center, Shenyang Institute of Computing Technology Co.Ltd., Shenyang Institute of Automation, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chengdu Information Technology Co. Ltd (Formerly Chengdu Institute of Computer Application), etc. SCCE has many state key laboratories, such as
Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Information Security, Pattern Recognition, Management and Control of Complex System laboratories, etc., as well as National Research Center of High Performance Computer Engineering
Technology, Information Security Technology Laboratory and Data Control Bus Technology State Engineering
Laboratory. Besides, SCCE has more than 20 research centers and hundreds of scientific research laboratories. It has established Network Security, Computer Network, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Information Security Teaching laboratories. SCCE has a remarkable faculty team and has 1,212 researchers and teaching stuff with the associate professor or equivalent titles and above, including 14 Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 5 researchers selected by National Thousand Talent Program, 26 awardees of National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists, 54 researchers selected by CAS Hundred Talent Program and 209 professors. More than 120 courses are offered every year during concentrated teaching stages with more than 4,600 graduate students, including master and PhD candidates.
