Prerequisite: Principles Database System, Computer Network
Course Objective and Requirement: Cloud Computing Discussion Course is prepared for postgraduates who major in Computer Software and Theory. After this course, students are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the origin, concepts, principles and implementation technology of cloud computing. Also they will get some knowledge of the major products and tools supporting cloud computing, the main research orientation in this field, and the trend of development and prospect in cloud computing. A firm specialized foundation can be built for the engagement in related field in the future.

Case 1: Fundamentals and architecture of cloud computing and the service form including SaaS, PasS, and IaaS.
Case 2: Cloud memory and virtualization. Virtualization tools including VMWare and Xen.
Case 3: Google cloud computing technology, platform and product, including GFS、MapReduce、BigTable、Google Docs、Google App Engine、Google Chrome OS.
Case 4: Open source cloud computing technology, platform and product, including Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Hive, Pig language, Sector / Sphere and Eucalyptus.
Case 5: Microsoft cloud computing technology, platform and product, including idea of “cloud + end ”, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Surface Computing, Microsoft cubic search、Microsoft Silverlight, Live Mesh, Microsoft Office live, and Live Meeting.
Case 6: Amazon cloud computing technology, platform and product, including Amazon Web Service, EC2 and 3S.
Case 7: Other cloud computing technology, platform and product, such as IBM Blue Cloud, Salesforce CRM Service.
Case 8: Commercial form of cloud computing.
Case 9: Concept, principle and main application of IOT.
