Purposes and Requirements: This course is a senior professional course open for the graduate students. This course requires the students to understand the basic concept of the retrieval technology, the important descriptors which depict the multimedia information, the state of the art of the analysis and retrieval method and the current trends of research in this field. Improve the students' program design skills and the ability of validating algorithm. Through the study of this course, students will know the basic background of the multimedia content analysis and retrieval, improve the research ability, and lay the foundation of engaging for higher levels of study in the related field.
Preparatory Courses: Digital Image Processing, Multimedia Technology Base, Digital Signal Processing, VC++ or Matlab
